Paralegal Today, the leading independent, national magazine for the paralegal profession, has appointed Patricia E. Infanti, PP, PLS, a former president of NALS, to the new position of Managing Editor for the publication, effective January 1, 2014. Patricia brings to the position a wealth of experience and knowledge about the paralegal field having been a member of NALS since 1995 and a board member from 2006 to 2012. During her tenure with NALS her duties included reviewing articles for the association magazine. In 2005 she received the NALS Award of Excellence.
Patricia is also a past president of the Philadelphia LSA (n/k/a NALS of Philadelphia) and a past state president of NALS of Pennsylvania. Her credentials include an excellent background in education applicable to information needs of the paralegal field. She has been certified in New Jersey as a Teacher of Part Time Adult Evening Voc-Tech Occupations in the field of Legal Assisting. In addition, she taught basic and advanced Legal Secretary courses at the Gloucester County Institute of Technology.
Along with authoring several articles for NALS, Patti authored Study Unit One of the Legal Secretary Distance Learning Course for ICS Learning Systems. She has served on NALS’ national committees since 1998. She is currently a member of the NALS Leadership Identification Committee. She was a co-presenter at the 2013 ALA national conference on the topic of Extreme Makeover: Rebranding the Legal Administrative Assistant. Patricia has been a member of the commercial real estate department of Ballard Spahr LLP, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, since 1990.
Editor-in-Chief of Paralegal Today, Sally A. Kane, Esq., who has served excellently in that capacity for 5 years, has stepped down to pursue other interests. Sally will continue to be associated with the magazine as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board. The position of Editor-in-Chief has been dissolved and responsibilities of that role are being assumed by the Publisher.
Along with the new Managing Editor position, the job of Operations Coordinator being handled by Jacquelyn M. Ott has been expanded to include some editorial duties, and the new title for this position is Editorial & Operations Coordinator.
