If you have filed a UCC‐1 financing statement against a borrower and made a mistake in typing in a debtor's name, for example, you would have created a hidden lien that could come back to haunt you after a deal or case has closed. This session will explore the potential discrepancies and industry standards associated with filing UCC Financing Statements. Mandy Dietz and Ryan Baker of Capitol Lien will examine how to avoid filing mistakes, how to identify incorrect information that may cost you, and stress the importance of post verification searches. Some cost saving tips and tricks will also be applied for certain jurisdictions.
