Directors In General

The following “director” information assumes that the directors of membership, education, certification, and marketing are also the respective chairs of those committees. However, in an ideal situation, the director should not serve as the committee chair. The committee chair’s time is tied up working on committees, rather than working and thinking strategically for the association. The director’s purpose is to serve on the board of directors and, as such, they should be the liaisons between the respective committees and the board. However, we realize that in many instances, especially in small chapters and state associations, this will not always be possible.
