NALS Liaison

General: The NALS liaison is appointed by the president each year. Depending on the association bylaws, the NALS liaison may be a member of the association executive committee without a vote. The president has the authority to assign the duties of the NALS liaison to another state officer rather than appointing another individual to the position.

Suggested Duties

  • Remind local and state presidents and secretaries to submit the officer roster to the NALS Resource Center by March 31. Provide a copy of the officer roster to the NALS Regional Director for your region.
  • Attend all association meetings.
  • Review and disseminate information promptly on NALS matters of interest to the members. Make sure all officers receive copies of communications or newsletters received from the NALS Regional Director.
  • Act in an advisory capacity to the executive committee regarding NALS matters. You are the liaison between NALS and your association. Communicate regularly with the NALS Regional Director.
  • Channel questions from the association to the proper NALS officer or chairman or the NALS Regional Director.
  • Provide oral and/or written reports as requested by the president.
  • Attend as many NALS meetings as possible, including appropriate Region conference(s).
