NALS Certifications—Branding Update

NALS recognizes that now, more than ever, the role for individuals entering the legal profession is changing. In order to more fully embrace the diversity of legal professionals entering the workforce and provide those individuals with certifications reflecting that diversity, NALS has adapted the name of its Accredited Legal Secretary (ALS) certification. NALS’ entry-level certification will now be known as Accredited Legal Professional (ALP). Effective May 1, 2013, persons who attain or have attained this certification may now use either the ALS or ALP designation. Please note that this is a change in name only; the quality of the exam remains the same. This is an exciting time for our organization and the legal profession, and NALS continues to provide all legal professionals with the opportunities to enhance their education and skills.
In an effort to ensure that branding for the NALS exams remains consistent, NALS has redesigned its PLS logo to resemble that of the ALP and PP logos. All three NALS certification logos may be viewed below. New ALP/PLS pins and notecards are available for purchase in the NALS Store, Additionally, if you wish to receive a reprinted certificate with the new logo, those will be available for the price of $20.
