Membership

Member recognition is vital to any organization.  Everyone wants acknowledgement of his or her contributions and hard work.  As a leader it is your responsibility to make those you work with feel important.  There are several things leaders can do.  First and foremost, be sure to thank the person for working on and/or completing the task.  Thank the people privately but more importantly, don’t forget to publicly thank them for their work – either in your newsletter or at a meeting.  Present them with a Certificate of Appreciation at a meeting.  With all the desktop publishing programs available, you can create your own unique certificate to give.

There are other ways to recognize your members.  Find out something about their outside interests or hobbies, such as scrapbooking, photography, or reading.  Go out and buy a small token of appreciation for the member that fits with his or her interest, such as a picture frame for the photo buff or a bookmark for the reader.  These items do not need to be expensive – there are quite a few “dollar” stores where you can pick up inexpensive things.

In the end, the important thing to remember is remember members’ feelings and don’t forget to recognize their importance to your organization.

Think Big and spread the word!

NALS Foundation Support Opportunities in Branson

Over the years, the NALS Foundation has provided assistance to the NALS Members through grants, keynote speakers, and funding of various NALS programs and projects.  NONE of this would be possible without the continuing support of you—the NALS MEMBERS.  For your generosity, we are truly appreciative.

When we get to Branson, there will be several opportunities of support available:  we will continue the Twenty Bucks Sweepstakes, the Silent Auction, Circle Donations (new and renewals), and—back by popular demand—the Live Auction.

We have a special offering for the Live Auction:  a 2009 New York Yankees Championship World Series Package featuring a team autographed 2009 New York World Series Baseball, 2009 New York Yankees Championship T‑shirt, 2009 World Series DVD, Major League Baseball Cap with 2009 World Series Pin and 2009 New York Yankees Champions World Series Pin, and a 2009 World Series Program.

Baseball aficionados, come prepared to bid!  One lucky fan will be the recipient of this fabulous package.
