This year NALS is “Thinking Big” and focusing on our membership—recruiting new members, retaining old ones, and renewing memberships of past members.  This has many of us thinking big and continuing to make our association the best association for legal support professionals.  All of the Regions and Think Big teams have gone above and beyond anything I would have ever imagined for membership ideas for their respective Regions.

Are you trying to come up with ideas on how to recruit, retain, and renew?  Are you involving all generations of your members?  Why not put together a team to plan CLE, functions, and/or conferences.  Make your team consist of various members—not just the “old reliable members.”  Include new members, past presidents, seasoned members, members young and older!  Get opinions from all different perspectives and while choosing this team, think about members who will be proactive! 

Needing ideas for membership drives?  How about ice cream socials, Saturday CLE sessions with an administrative group, presentations to court personnel.  The list goes on and on...you just have to be creative.  In today’s economy, people are looking for the most “bang” out of their buck and I truly believe that NALS provides this.  Promote all that NALS has to offer at your membership drives by including a sheet in your membership packet that list all of the perks of being a NALS member.
