We Raised a Ruckus in Reno!
It's
hard to believe that the 55th annual conference is in the
history books. I think I speak for all of us when
I say we had a great time at the conference. Many
members added a side trip to San Francisco at the front
or back end of the conference, for a fun vacation in addition
to the conference. We know our members love to travel
and see the sites of our conference cities. With
that thought in mind, we are changing the schedule for
our 2007 conference to allow conference attendees to see
the sites of St. Louis. We hope you will meet us
in St. Louis for the 56th annual conference October 11-14,
2007.
We
also announce the site for our 2008 conference - Norfolk,
Virginia is the site of the 57th annual conference September
11-14, 2008. Yes, the conference is scheduled earlier
in 2008, but by planning now, our states and chapters can
schedule fall conferences and seminars at a later date. Why
are we meeting in September? Cost. We want
to keep our conference and room costs as affordable as
possible and by moving our conference to September, we
are able to do just that.
Those
magic dates again are 11-14; October 11-14, 2007 in St.
Louis, and September 11-14, 2008 in Norfolk! Mark
your calendars now and make plans to attend these conferences.
Our
members seemed to enjoy the layout of the exhibit hall
at this year's conference. We had more room to meet
the exhibitors, mingle and network with other legal professionals,
and just have fun. Members and exhibitors alike enjoyed
the Marketplace session where we were able to learn more
about our corporate sponsors and what they had to offer.
Thank
you, to all who donated to the Backpack for Kids program
of the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. We collected
food and cash donations so kids in need don't go hungry
on weekends.
Finally,
what "fantabulous" support for the NALS Foundation. Our
members were so generous with their donations to the Foundation. Last
but not least, the first NALS Foundation Idol was a huge
success! A special thanks to our contestants and
members, as well as our judges. Once again, our members
proved how talented they really are!
Whenever
you have a successful conference, you are faced with the
challenge of making the next one even better. Plans
are already underway to make our 2007 conference bigger and
better, so be sure to Meet Me in St. Louis next fall!
