Leading the Way - December 2009
Membership
Every chapter is focused on building their new member numbers. We have to constantly think outside the box to attract new members of all ages. But don’t forget the members we already have.
Do you have a member in your chapter that you haven’t seen at a meeting lately? Perhaps that member is thinking of not renewing their membership because they feel “left out”. Don’t leave it up to your membership chair to be the one to do everything regarding membership. Anyone in your chapter can send a note or make a phone call. That personal touch can make a difference between retaining a member or losing a member.
Yes, we want our new member numbers to grow, but we also have to focus on retaining the members we have. Reach out. Go that extra mile of contacting a member you haven’t seen in a while. Invite them to a casual lunch. We all have a lot on our plates lately with our employers asking us to do more. But that personal touch will make a difference!
THINK BIG! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
