Every chapter, state, and region does fundraising. As they say, “it is a fact of life.” Fundraising is the creative, energizing, thoughtful-provoking, hard working, never-ending experience of generating much needed funds to establish a scholarship, to develop a new idea or program, to fund an officer to attend a NALS conference or as simple as increasing your much needed treasury. There are those members who will accept the challenges of fundraising with open arms and embrace the experience while others avoid it like the plague. Let’s face it, fundraising can be uncomfortable but take those of us on the NALS Foundation and how we make our $2O BUCKS asks at our conferences so much fun. Put the “FUN” back in fundraising – accept the fundraising challenge – embrace it – enjoy the experience and above all, know that your efforts will be a vital part to the development of the purposes for which your are working so hard to achieve.
