2019 National Volunteer Opportunities

Thursday, October 18, 2018   (0 Comments)

Every year the NALS Board of Directors Is actively engaged in analyzing the challenges and opportunities for the association, identifying the high-impact legal industry trends or developments affecting the members, and strategically using the association resources to build member value.

This requires the need of a great team to join them as they continue to shape the future of NALS. That is where 'U' come in!

Take an active role in leadership service. Participation on a NALS committee will enhance your personal goals and professional growth, give you a clearer understanding of the inner workings of NALS, and empower you to shape the future of NALS through your volunteerism.

All NALS committees communicate electronically, typically holding monthly meetings online or via conference call, and conduct business through email, an economical and green way to function as a committee. Although not mandatory (with the exception of the Certifying Board), the national committees are highly encouraged to meet up each year at the national education and networking conference held annually.

The NALS Board of Directors introduced a re-vamped session for the national volunteer orientation called 'Invitation to National Leadership.' This session was not an invitation-only session and was open to anyone who would like information about our committees and serving on the national level. To start this session, the Board Members presented for approximately 10 minutes about the mission of NALS and a few other tidbits on what it means to be a national volunteer, in a casual laid-back environment. After that, each committee created a vision board. The committees dispersed to meet individually to create a vision board for their respective committee, task force, or board. If a conference guest was not currently on a committee, they were welcome to sit with any committee of their choosing.

You can view all of the vision boards created during this session here.

It is thrilling and exciting to be part of the NALS Leadership Team. You will have FUN getting to know and working with other NALS members from around the country. You will gain a sense of pride and accomplishment seeing your work come to fruition; additionally certain task forces and boards could earn CLE credits based on certain tasks.

Engage, inspire, enhance, and promote NALS by accepting the challenge to make a difference!
